Across four decades I have refined a practice that balances craft and imagination. My graphic design background informs everything I do: I think in grids and margins, in contrast and hierarchy, and in the subtle choreography of elements across the frame. That training allows me to add a personalized touch to each photograph—deliberate color harmonies, bespoke cropping, and layered visual motifs that transform a literal scene into a signature image. I favor a restrained palette and precise composition, yet I welcome serendipity; the photograph’s emotional truth often arrives through an unplanned gesture or a fleeting quality of light. My process is both methodical and intuitive. I prepare technically—lens choice, exposure, and print workflow—so I can respond freely in the moment. In postproduction I apply editorial restraint, enhancing rather than overwriting the subject, and I use design principles to guide tonal balance and spatial relationships. The result is work that reads clearly at a glance and rewards sustained looking.
